The Sirius Radio was tuned to Channel 29 so the blues music was cranking long before the gang arrived at noon. The call went out to some of our good friends to break bread and chow down on some great barbeque. Joining the Big River folks were Elizabeth Roark, James McIntosh, Dee Briggs, Ginny Murphy, Geoff Stone and Chris Hull. Providing the right ‘cue was critical. Tera Holland, Marketing Coordinator for Red, Hot and Blue in Richmond brought pork and chicken barbeque, killer hot sauce, great sides and, of course, banana puddin’. (Make sure to ask Fred to tell you his banana puddin’ story.) The event was a hit. Stories were swapped, ideas were hatched and people who only knew each other through emails finally made eye contact. We’re looking forward to doing it again in October. If you’d like to join us for our next Friends of Big River Lunch, please email Amada May |
