Taylor hits Grand Slam at Venture Forum

Creative Director Terry Taylor wowed a record-setting crowd of 150 at the Venture Forum luncheon today. He was one of three panelists discussing, “Marketing and Branding your Company.” Terry talked about the importance of INTERNAL branding; “telling your story to customers is great…but if the people at your company don’t buy in, you’re lost.” He continued, “Most companies’ big mistake is thinking an ad or a clever idea is a shortcut to creating a strong brand. Look at some major fast food chains. They spend millions on advertising and sponsorships every year, but entrust their branding efforts to a 15-year-old at the drive-thru. It all has to work together.” He also talked at length about something he likes to call “salesmarketingbrandingadvertising” (a somewhat controversial concept about how sales and marketing and branding and advertising all relate to each other and in fact may be the same thing). For more about that, look for our Big River Blog, BY THE CAMPFIRE, coming February 1st.
