Big River, a Richmond-based, independently-owned branding and advertising firm, has hired Jimmy Jones as Digital Designer. In this position, Jones plays a key role in digital development and animation for Big River clients including National 4-H Council, Virginia Lottery, WellPoint, TBL Networks and others. Jones brings 12 years of experience in web, animation, motion, video, digital imaging, graphic design, photo illustration and digital development to Big River, where he will be instrumental in digital media implementation.
Most recently and prior to joining Big River, Jones was a Multimedia Developer and Designer at The Martin Agency in Richmond. While at Martin from 2005 to 2010, Jones also was a production specialist and freelance designer. During this time, Jones developed, retouched and animated award-winning sites such as KDWChallenge.com and NationofGo.com for BFGoodrich, as well as launch sites for SunLife and new Hanes products. He gained significant experience implementing large-scale rich media campaigns for national brands including UPS, Walmart, Hanes, XGames and ESPN360.
From 2000 to 2005, Jones held other retouching and graphic design positions at LYTHOS and LOT44 (now Aliceblue), during which time he worked with national agencies and brands including McKinney Silver, Olympus, Wachovia Bank, AOL, UPS, IBM, Range Rover, Saatchi & Saatchi, Ping, Royal Caribbean, Eddie Bauer and Virginia Tourism Corp.
Throughout his career, Jones has provided design and retouching services, aiding photographers and art directors. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the School of Communication Arts in Raleigh.
